Worship:
Worship is central to our life together. We worship weekly at 8:30 AM each Sunday morning using a variety of liturgical styles from our ELCA Hymnal and distribute communion most Sundays. After worship join us for coffee and conversation in our Community Room.
Worship in this Season:
Consider thinking of Advent under these brief headings:
Week 1: Be Enriched and Strengthened (1 Cor. 1:3-9; Mark 13:24-37. We are awake and strengthened, because Jesus Christ gives all the various gifts necessary for the church as it waits for his revealing.
Week 2: Wait Patiently (2 Peter 3:8-15a; Marl 1:1-8). The church is called to listen patiently to the proclamation of God's promises through preachers and prophets, regarding the patience of God as our salvation, so that all might come to repentance.
Week 3: Repent and Prepare the Way of the Lord (1 Thess. 5:16-24; John 1: 6-8, 19-28). Like John the Baptist, who rightfully receives considerable attention during Advent, we are called to repent and proclaim Christ as we await his coming.
December 18,
Week 4: Paul and Mary Glorifying God through Jesus Christ (Rom. 16:25-27; Luke 1:26-38). Sometimes Paul tries to say everything in 1 sentence, as he does in this final sentence of Romans, maybe imitating God, who does succeed in saying everything in 1 human being, Jesus Christ. Mary receives this word in her very body.
